GION MATSURI
takes place annually in Ky oto and is one of the most famous festivals in Japan. It goes for the entire month of July and is crowned by a parade, on July 17 and July 24. It takes its name from Kyoto's Gion district..
It is a traditional festival religious
where participating people of all ages, and Kyoto kimonos get old dresses and culture.
HISTORY GION MATSURI.
This festival has always been a purification ritual to appease the goods and avert natural desaster, that was suffering kioto.
For example: Floods, fire and earthquakes.
In 869 The Japaneses were suffering with plages and problems made by Gozu Tenno an Evil deity .
The emperor order to people pray to Susano-no.Mikoto, The good of the sanctuary Yakasa.

They belived that good decorating the sanctuary was to protect the natural disasters and renove the bad energies with ornaments, flowers and beautiful gardens.
